Our Bio – Green Herring Oz Duo
Green Herring Oz from the Southwest of WA plays high energy, engaging folk music. They sifted through the music archives to present a variety of music genres ‘unplugged’, from bluegrass, blues to country.
Their large repertoire of upbeat songs, fast paced, foot-tapping tunes and slow favourite melodies is lifted by tight harmonies, interwoven with stories to enjoy, or just sit back and think about.
Be mesmerised by a splendid mix of vocals, guitar, mandolin and banjo, featuring classic covers and cleverly crafted originals.
In July 2023, Green Herring Oz released their first CD ‘In Hot Waters’ which features 13 originals in the folk and bluegrass styles, from light-hearted waltzes, surprising bass rhythms and touching harmonies to fast-paced bluegrass inspired songs. Song topics include good community mental health, regenerative living, the climate crisis and tips for staying sane in these crazy times.
