Our Bio – Green Herring Oz Duo
Green Herring Oz from the Southwest of WA plays high energy, engaging bluegrass and folk music with acoustic instruments and tightly blended harmonies.
Their large repertoire of upbeat songs, fast paced, foot-tapping tunes and slow favourite melodies is interwoven with stories to enjoy and think about.
Be mesmerised by a splendid mix of vocals, guitar, mandolin, banjo and bass, featuring classic covers and cleverly crafted originals.
In July 2023, Green Herring Oz released their first CD ‘In Hot Waters’ which features 13 originals in the folk and bluegrass styles, from light-hearted waltzes, surprising bass rhythms and touching harmonies to fast-paced inspired songs.
Topics of their originals include good community mental health, localisation, volunteering, regenerative living, the climate crisis and tips for staying sane in these crazy times.

Green Herring Oz Trio is based in Greenbushes in Western Australia (WA). Band members are Irma Lachmund (voice, mandolin, guitar, banjo), Lee Goodall (voice, mandolin, guitar) and Andy Hardy (double bass).
Green Herring Oz is based in the biodiversity hotspot of the Southwest of WA. We feel strongly about protecting and regenerating the environment. We aim to encourage decisive actions to curb carbon emissions, leave fossil fuels in the ground, regenerate our biodiversity on land and waters, build community and cherish diversity.
In Hot Waters
The title of our CD was inspired by lots of things on earth that are in In Hot Waters at the moment, like all of humanity.
