they tried to knock down the timber and dig up all the coal
Then the people raised their voices, spoke clearly and loud
The forest is still there ‘n the coal’s still in the ground!

I wasn’t born near the Beeliar Wetlands, but it is still my home
Across a wonderland of nature they tried to build a road
Then the people changed the government among blood, sweat and tears
Some trees are gone but the rest lives on, safe for future years

Where turtles, fish and whales in crystal waters roam
Dredging and building bigger ports leaves the debris to the sea
We need a plastic free environment for them, you and for me.

The land of our ancestors it is still my home
No place for fracking the sacred ground, polluting water holes
Let’s look after our soil, grow healthy food and share,
Like the air that we breathe every day, there is plenty for us there.

Another record broken, the earth had its hottest year again
Not easy to figure out what we can do, where and when
